The word Ethiopic refers to the Ancient Ethiopian language Geez which is still the official language of The Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahdo Church. The Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahdo Church is the largest of the Oriental Orthodox Christian Churches. The Tewahedo Church Canon contains 81 books. The Ethiopian Orthodox Church is origin of ancient books including Book of Enoch (the only complete text found in Geez), Abba Garima Gospels (dated around the 6th century). Abba Garima Gospels is the oldest Christian book in the world. It is found in Ethiopia in the Garima Monastery.
